A quick and easy recipe for crispy lobster tails cooked in an air fryer, served with a flavorful lemon garlic butter sauce. Perfect for impressing guests with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium-sized lobster tails (about 6 ounces or 170 grams each)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 medium lemon (about 2 tablespoons or 30 ml)
  • Lemon zest from 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Using kitchen shears, cut down the top shell of each lobster tail lengthwise, stopping just before the tail fin. Pry the shell open gently and lift the meat, resting it over the shell.
  2. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, fresh lemon juice, and lemon zest. Whisk until well blended. Add paprika, salt, and black pepper. Set aside.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) and let it warm up for 3 minutes.
  4. Generously brush the lemon garlic butter over the exposed lobster meat. Reserve some butter for basting halfway through cooking.
  5. Place the lobster tails in the air fryer basket, meat side up, ensuring they don’t overlap. Cook for 8 minutes.
  6. After 8 minutes, open the air fryer and brush the lobster meat again with the reserved lemon garlic butter. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the meat is opaque and slightly firm.
  7. Check for doneness with a meat thermometer; the internal temperature should reach 135°F (57°C). Avoid overcooking.
  8. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the lobster tails for garnish and serve immediately with extra lemon wedges.

Notes

Cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer model; watch closely the first time to avoid overcooking. Use fresh garlic for best flavor and do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Butter can be substituted with vegan buttery spread for a dairy-free version. Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer at 320°F for 3-4 minutes to maintain crispiness.
