A quick and easy salmon recipe featuring crispy skin and a sweet-savory maple soy glaze, perfect for a fuss-free dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Salmon fillets, skin-on, about 6 ounces (170g) each, fresh or thawed
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (optional but recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 stalk green onions, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Brush the skin side lightly with 1 tablespoon oil and sprinkle both sides with a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  4. Place the fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket without overlapping. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 7-9 minutes, depending on thickness.
  5. After 7 minutes, carefully brush the maple soy glaze onto the salmon fillets. Continue cooking for another 2 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
  6. Remove the salmon and let it rest for 2 minutes. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before cooking to ensure crispy skin. Preheat air fryer to 400°F for best results. Apply glaze near the end to prevent burning. Cook in batches if air fryer basket is small to avoid overcrowding.
