A lively and refreshing non-alcoholic margarita featuring fresh lime, jalapeño heat, and a tangy Tajín rim. Perfect for hot afternoons and casual get-togethers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large fresh limes, juiced (about 1/2 cup lime juice)
  • 1 medium-sized jalapeño, thinly sliced (remove seeds for less heat)
  • 12 tablespoons agave nectar
  • 1 cup chilled sparkling water (plain or lime-flavored)
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice (about half a fresh orange)
  • Ice cubes, enough to fill the glass
  • Tajín seasoning for rimming the glass
  • Coarse sea salt (optional, mixed with Tajín for rim)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass by moistening the rim with a lime wedge.
  2. Dip the rim into a plate with a mix of Tajín seasoning and coarse sea salt. Set aside to dry.
  3. Juice 3 large limes and about half a fresh orange into a mixing glass or shaker.
  4. Stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons of agave nectar until dissolved.
  5. Add 4-5 thin slices of jalapeño to the juice mixture and let infuse for about 5 minutes.
  6. Fill the serving glass with ice cubes.
  7. Strain the infused citrus juice over the ice to avoid jalapeño seeds.
  8. Top off with 1 cup of chilled sparkling water and stir gently to combine.
  9. Garnish with a fresh lime wheel or jalapeño slice on the rim and serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust jalapeño slices to control heat level. For a milder drink, remove seeds or substitute jalapeño with cucumber slices. Use fresh lime and orange juice for best flavor. Stir gently to preserve sparkling water fizz. Prepare juice and jalapeño infusion up to 24 hours ahead, but add sparkling water and ice just before serving.
