Crispy Buffalo Chicken Dip - featured image

A spicy, creamy, and crunchy party appetizer featuring shredded chicken, cream cheese, buffalo sauce, and blue cheese, topped with buttery panko breadcrumbs for a satisfying texture contrast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup blue cheese dressing
  • 1/2 cup buffalo hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Shred the cooked chicken, discarding skin and bones.
  3. Soften the cream cheese at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, blue cheese dressing, buffalo hot sauce, garlic powder, and shredded cheddar. Mix until smooth.
  5. Fold in the shredded chicken until evenly coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a 9×9 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. In a small bowl, toss panko breadcrumbs with melted butter until coated.
  8. Sprinkle the buttery panko evenly over the dip and press down gently.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbling and panko is golden brown.
  10. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature cream cheese to avoid lumps. Grate your own cheddar for a smoother melt. If the panko browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil. Serve with celery, carrots, or tortilla chips.
