These football-shaped buffalo chicken dip bites are a game day favorite, featuring a creamy, spicy filling wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough. They’re easy to make, portable, and perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (12 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Everything bagel seasoning or flaky sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded chicken, buffalo wing sauce, shredded cheddar cheese, and blue cheese (if using). Stir until everything is well combined and creamy.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean cutting board or countertop. If using perforated triangle sheets, press the seams together firmly to create a solid sheet of dough.
  4. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each dough rectangle into 9 equal squares (3 rows by 3 columns). You’ll end up with 18 squares total.
  5. Scoop about 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of the buffalo chicken filling into the center of each dough square.
  6. Lift the four corners of each dough square and bring them together at the top, pinching the seams to seal. Gently shape the dough into an oval, football-like shape with your hands. Place each shaped bite seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about an inch of space between them.
  7. Using a pastry brush, lightly brush the top of each football-shaped bite with the melted butter. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning or flaky sea salt if using.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are deeply golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  9. Let the bites cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a serving platter.
  10. Serve warm, with extra ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing on the side for dipping.

Notes

For best results, use freshly shredded cheddar cheese and ensure cream cheese is at room temperature. If dough becomes sticky, chill shaped bites in the fridge for 10 minutes before baking. To prevent filling from leaking, do not overfill and pinch seams well.
