  • 2 cans (about 12 rolls total) canned cinnamon rolls, classic or with icing removed
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or whole milk (dairy-free milk like oat milk can be used)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Open the cans of cinnamon rolls and cut each roll into quarters.
  3. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon; stir until well mixed.
  4. Spread half the chopped cinnamon roll pieces evenly in the baking dish and drizzle half the butter and sugar mixture over them.
  5. Add the remaining cinnamon roll pieces on top and pour the rest of the butter mixture evenly over everything.
  6. Pour heavy cream or milk evenly over the casserole.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbling at the edges. Tent with foil if browning too fast.
  8. While baking, beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. Add a teaspoon of milk if glaze is too thick.
  9. Remove casserole from oven and let cool for 5 minutes, then drizzle the cream cheese glaze generously over the top.
  10. Serve warm immediately or keep warm in a low oven until serving.

Notes

Grease the pan well to prevent sticking. Cut cinnamon rolls into quarters for even baking and better absorption of the buttery sugar mixture. If the casserole browns too quickly, tent with foil. Soften cream cheese well before mixing glaze to avoid lumps. Serve warm for best gooey texture. Leftovers can be reheated gently.
