These Easy Halloween Dirt Cup Pudding Parfaits are a quick, no-bake dessert that comes together in about 10 minutes with simple ingredients. Layers of creamy chocolate pudding and crushed chocolate sandwich cookies are topped with gummy worms for a spooky treat that kids and adults love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (3.9-ounce) boxes instant chocolate pudding mix (Jell-O brand recommended)
  • 3 cups cold whole milk (2% works too)
  • 1 (14.3-ounce) package chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos, about 36 cookies)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (optional)
  • 1 (4.25-ounce) package gummy worms (Trolli brand recommended)
  • Optional: candy eyeballs, plastic spiders, or Halloween sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Make the pudding: Pour cold milk into a medium mixing bowl. Add both boxes of instant chocolate pudding mix. Whisk vigorously for about 2 minutes until the pudding starts to thicken and holds soft peaks. Let it sit for 5 minutes to fully set.
  2. Crush the cookies: Place chocolate sandwich cookies in a food processor. Pulse until you get a mixture of fine crumbs and small chunks (like potting soil). Alternatively, put cookies in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin. If using melted butter, drizzle over crumbs and pulse or stir to combine.
  3. Layer the parfaits: Spoon about 2 tablespoons of cookie crumbs into the bottom of each cup. Top with about 3 tablespoons of pudding. Repeat with another layer of crumbs and pudding. Finish with a final layer of cookie crumbs on top. Use about 4-5 tablespoons of crumbs total per cup and about 6 tablespoons of pudding per cup.
  4. Add garnishes: Press gummy worms into the top layer of crumbs so they look like they’re crawling out. Add optional candy eyeballs, plastic spiders, or Halloween sprinkles.
  5. Chill and serve: Serve immediately or refrigerate for at least 30 minutes for best texture. For make-ahead, cover cups with plastic wrap and refrigerate up to 24 hours. Add gummy worms just before serving.

Notes

Use cold milk straight from the fridge for proper pudding set. Crush cookies yourself for better texture. Clear cups are best to show layers. For make-ahead, add gummy worms just before serving to prevent them from getting sticky. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days; cookie crumbs will soften over time. Not recommended for freezing.
