These easy patriotic chocolate-dipped strawberries are a quick, festive, and crowd-pleasing dessert perfect for summer celebrations like the Fourth of July. Juicy strawberries are coated in smooth semisweet chocolate, drizzled with white chocolate, and decorated with red, white, and blue sprinkles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450 grams) fresh strawberries, washed and dried thoroughly
  • 8 ounces (225 grams) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 4 ounces (115 grams) white chocolate chips (optional, for drizzling)
  • Red, white, and blue sprinkles, assorted shapes and sizes
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil (optional, for glossy chocolate finish)
  • Parchment paper (for setting dipped strawberries)

Instructions

  1. Gently rinse 1 pound (450 grams) of strawberries and pat completely dry with paper towels. Let air dry on a plate lined with paper towels for about 10 minutes.
  2. Place 8 ounces (225 grams) of semisweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil for a smooth, shiny finish. Microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring between each, until fully melted and glossy (about 1-2 minutes).
  3. Holding each strawberry by the stem or with a toothpick, dip it into the melted chocolate, coating about two-thirds of the berry. Let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. Place dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Refrigerate the tray for 10-15 minutes to let the chocolate harden slightly.
  5. Melt 4 ounces (115 grams) of white chocolate chips in a separate bowl using the same microwave method, stirring frequently.
  6. Drizzle the white chocolate over the chilled strawberries in a zigzag pattern using a spoon or fork. Immediately sprinkle red and blue sprinkles on top before the drizzle sets, pressing lightly if needed.
  7. Return the tray to the fridge for another 10-15 minutes to let the drizzle set completely.
  8. Serve chilled or at room temperature within a few hours for best taste and appearance.

Notes

Dry strawberries thoroughly before dipping to ensure chocolate sticks well. Use short microwave bursts and stir frequently to avoid burning chocolate. Chill dipped strawberries between layers to keep colors crisp. For dairy-free or vegan options, substitute chocolate chips accordingly. Store strawberries in a single layer in the fridge and consume within 24 hours for best texture.
