fun mummy hot dogs - featured image

A quick and easy Halloween snack featuring hot dogs wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough with mustard eyes, perfect for parties and kids.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Hot dogs (standard beef, pork, or turkey)
  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Yellow mustard
  • Water (for sealing dough)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper and grease lightly.
  2. Pat hot dogs dry with a paper towel. If large, cut in half.
  3. Unroll crescent dough and separate triangles along perforated lines.
  4. Place a hot dog at the wide end of a dough triangle and roll towards the point, leaving gaps for a ‘bandage’ look.
  5. Pinch ends shut and seal edges with water to prevent opening.
  6. Squeeze two small dots of yellow mustard on top for eyes.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure dough is cold when handling to prevent tearing. Do not wrap dough too tightly; leave gaps for the mummy look. Watch closely during baking to prevent burning. Can be frozen before baking for meal prep.
