A cool, crisp, and floral twist on the classic Arnold Palmer, combining black tea, lemonade, fresh blueberries, and culinary lavender for a refreshing summer drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 black tea bags (Lipton recommended)
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries (ripe and plump, ideally organic)
  • 23 sprigs fresh culinary lavender (not ornamental)
  • 3 cups lemonade (homemade or store-bought)
  • 4 cups water (filtered if possible)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (optional)
  • Ice cubes (about 2 cups or more)

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups (960 ml) of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add 4 black tea bags and 2-3 sprigs of fresh culinary lavender. Cover and steep for 8-10 minutes until tea is strong and lavender aroma infused, avoiding bitterness.
  2. Strain the tea using a fine mesh strainer into a large heatproof pitcher, pressing gently on tea bags to extract flavor without bitterness.
  3. Add 1 cup fresh blueberries to the pitcher and gently muddle with a muddler or wooden spoon to release juices, leaving some berries whole for texture.
  4. Pour in 3 cups (720 ml) lemonade and stir to combine. Taste and add 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup if desired, stirring until dissolved.
  5. Add plenty of ice cubes (about 2 cups or more) to the pitcher. Stir again and let sit for 5 minutes to meld flavors. Serve over ice in tall glasses, garnished with a lavender sprig or whole blueberries.

Notes

If using dried culinary lavender, use only 1 teaspoon to avoid overpowering. Keep ice separate if making ahead to prevent dilution. Adjust steeping time to balance lavender flavor. Fresh lemonade preferred for best taste. Muddle blueberries gently to avoid mush.
