Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3 oz) Blue Raspberry Gelatin Mix (e.g., Jell-O)
  • 1 tablespoon Unflavored Gelatin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Boiling Water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) Cold Water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) Vodka or Clear Liquor
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Blue Raspberry Gelatin Base: In a mixing bowl, combine the blue raspberry gelatin mix and unflavored gelatin. Pour 1 cup (240 ml) of boiling water over the gelatin powders and whisk until fully dissolved (about 2 minutes).
  2. Add Cold Water and Liquor: Stir in 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water, 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka, and 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice. Mix gently but thoroughly. Let the mixture cool to room temperature (about 15 minutes).
  3. Pour the First Blue Layer: Carefully pour a thin layer (about 1/3 of the total volume) into each shot glass. Place the glasses in the refrigerator and chill for 30 minutes or until the layer is firm but still slightly tacky.
  4. Prepare the Creamy White Layer: While the first layer sets, combine 1 package (3 oz) unflavored gelatin with 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water until dissolved. Stir in 1/2 cup (120 ml) sweetened condensed milk and 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka. Let cool to room temperature.
  5. Add the White Layer: Gently pour the creamy mixture over the set blue layer. Return the glasses to the refrigerator and chill for another 30 minutes until firm.
  6. Prepare and Add the Final Blue Layer: Repeat step 1 but reduce the liquid amounts by half for a slightly more concentrated flavor and firmer texture. Pour the final blue layer on top carefully to avoid mixing layers. Chill for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.
  7. Serve: Once all layers are set, garnish with a decorative toothpick or small fruit piece and serve chilled.

Notes

Dissolve gelatin fully in boiling water to avoid grainy texture. Let each layer become fully firm before pouring the next to keep layers distinct. Slowly pour over the back of a spoon to maintain neat layers. For dairy-free creamy layer, substitute sweetened condensed milk with coconut cream mixed with powdered sugar. For non-alcoholic version, replace vodka with lemon-lime soda or sparkling water.
